How Long Have You Played Disc Golf?

It will be 3 years this summer. (Started in summer of 2006)

Most Memorable Win?

Win? Um, Boomer and I won the Rec Division at B&B Doubles in 2008. I don't play a lot of tournaments. And when I do enter, I rarely finish.

My Most Memorable Event:

I really like the Ice Bowl and the Disc'n For Dogs Ace Race. I've never played in a QC Ice Bowl, but organizing it, promoting it and seeing the turnout is awesome. I've done the Ace Race for two years, but really got involved in helping Paul run it in 2008. Again, seeing the crowd turn out to raise money for a good cause is pretty cool.

My Favorite Course?

I love Original Camden, mainly because it's practically in my backyard and it where I first played. Others include Nims in Rock Falls, Ill.; Gordon Barnett Park in Orlando, Fla.; and this poor, neglected 9-holer in Brainerd, Minn., I play every year while on vaction.

My Disc Golf Goals?

Get back to playing for fun. If I get better, great, but I need to just let it be fun and not worry about beating myself up for having a bad round.

Advice For Other Disc Golfers?

Play your own game. I fell into the trap of buying the big discs that the long arms are throwing, but I don't have that ability and my score reflected that. I've gone back to the plastic that works for me and I'm shooting a lot better because of it. Also, it's taken me a while to learn my own comfortable risk/reward ratio. More often than not, the risk attempt results in a couple added strokes. Playing a safer game has brought my score down a bit.

Anything Else?

Get involved beyond playing. There are plenty of opportunities to work on a course, help run a tournament or show a new player the basic rules and courtesies.
